Hoppy New Year 2024!
It’s your favourite rabbit pal Kale, here with my best friend Celery, ready to kick off the new year with a burst of fur-filled fun and reveal some exciting adventures we have planned at Vauxhall City Farm.
Get your pens ready and mark off these exciting dates in your calendar! But first….
A Huge Thank You!
Christmas 2023 was an absolute delight! We welcomed hundreds of families and friends to The Farm, it was truly magical.
Our festive decorations created a merry atmosphere and the twinkling Winter Light Trail added a touch of enchantment to every corner of our community garden.
The Grotto sessions were as snug as a bunny’s burrow, and Santa himself made a special appearance, spreading joy to all. Wreath-making sessions and Christmas Market were a hit, with everyone enjoying the merry vibes and the Christmas carols.
A huge thank you to those who helped transform our Christmas events from ideas into reality! If you visited us during December, we’d love you know your thoughts HERE!

Education!
In 2023, around 3000 young people enrolled in our workshops and programmes and hundreds more families engaged in our drop-in sessions throughout the weekends and holidays. From Junior Volunteer days and school trips to Young Farmers and Conservation Club, we have catered for all ages.
You are never too young or old to gain new experiences, practise new skills and learn new things.
In 2024, the education team is pleased to be offering even more workshops and programmes and looking forward to working with our ever-expanding community. Our workshops continue to run, welcoming groups to Meet the Animals, learn about Habitats, Sustainability and Plant Life or explore the journey food takes from Land to Lunchbox.
This February, we will be offering a unique opportunity for those looking to get started in their careers, hosting an Employability Programme for 16 – 25-year-olds not currently in education or training and looking for a head start on building their professional profile. Offering support with CV writing, interview skills and plenty of tips and advice on how to succeed in your employability journey.
Over the February half term, we are excited to launch Camp Green Horizons, focusing on Climate Change, young people aged 10 – 16 will take part in a week of fun activities that aims to inspire, educate and empower young people to become proactive champions of climate change mitigation and lead them on a journey towards a sustainable future.
Keep up to date with our programmes on our website or get in touch witheducation@vauxhallcityfarm.org
Garden!
Thank you Southwestern Railways for providing us with a grant for our new orchard!
A dozen new trees have found their roots in the new orchard at the farm entrance, and we intend to underplant them with a grass/wildflower mix. Also, get ready to be dazzled by the daffodil’s spectacular show in it.
We’ll be carefully pruning dormant trees to get them ready for the upcoming seasons. And yes, we are taming those fig trees that have decided to reach for the skies! Finally, we are creating a winding path through our vegetable patch to increase growing space while also providing a wonderful journey for visitors.
Adopt Me and Plan Your Visit!
Adopt me as a wonderful gift for yourself or your loved ones and by doing that you will also be helping The Farm to cover my day to day costs. It will definitely be a win-win situation! ADOPT KALE!
Furthermore, you can also book a Meet and Greet session with me (and Celery).
Farm reopens on Tuesday, 9th January 2024 for visitors as usual (Tuesdays-Sundays between 10.30am to 4pm) after Christmas and New Year holidays! I can’t wait to welcome you with open paws for a hop-tastic time together.
Spread the Love: Make a Donation!
As we hop into the new year, let’s not forget the power of giving.
Please consider making a donation to support Vauxhall City Farm. Your support brightens lives all year round.
Sending boundless gratitude your way.
Fluffily yours,
