Just minutes away from the Thames and Westminster, The Farm offers all the sights and smells of the countryside, attracting over 60,000 visitors each year, making it one of London’s hidden treasures.
Our offer includes a range of educational, horticultural and recreational workshops, volunteering, guided tours, a cafe called The Old Dairy and other visitors experience of an urban farm.

Is Vauxhall City Farm free to visit?
Yes! Vauxhall City Farm is free to visit. We welcome everyone to come along and meet our farm animals or unwind in our peaceful garden.
As a charity, we suggest a donation of £4 per person, if you can. Every donation helps us care for our animals and support our work with the local community.
You can normally buy feed for our sheep, goat and alpaca at £1 per bag.
Some activities and organised group visits have an additional charge.
Do I need to book to visit Vauxhall City Farm?
No, you don’t need to book for a regular visit with family or friends. Just come along during our opening hours.
However, groups of 10 or more, including schools and nurseries, must book in advance. Our paid animal experiences also need to be booked ahead of your visit.
What are Vauxhall City Farm’s opening times?
We’re open Tuesday to Sunday, from 10.30am to 4pm (last entry at 3.45pm). We’re closed on Mondays.
Opening times may change during holidays, special events or extreme weather, so we recommend checking our website, or opening times on google, before your visit.
What animals can I see at Vauxhall City Farm?
There’s plenty of animal life to discover at our little city farm! Come and meet our alpacas, goats, sheep and pigs, along with rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, ducks and a variety of birds.
You might even spot our resident farm cat enjoying a sunny spot! The animals you can see may vary depending on their care and wellbeing.
Can I feed or pet the animals at Vauxhall City Farm?
Yes! Some of our friendly animals enjoy a gentle stroke, and you can buy specially prepared animal feed from our welcome desk or the cafe (this is £1 per bag).
Please follow our signs and staff guidance, and never feed the animals with your own food. We also do not allow food or drink around the animal paddocks as some animals (especially our goats) will eat anything they can, and it may not be good for them.
For a closer encounter, you can also book one of our Meet & Greet experiences.
Remember to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water after touching animals or their enclosures.
What animal experiences can I book at Vauxhall City Farm?
Our Animal Meet & Greet experiences are a lovely way to get closer to some of our farm animals, including alpacas, goats, sheep, rabbits and guinea pigs.
Each experience lasts 20 minutes and must be booked in advance. Small animal experiences are suitable for ages 4+, while large animal experiences are for ages 7+.
We also run Cuddle Corner sessions on selected days and at special events, at £5 per session. These are subject to availability.
Is Vauxhall City Farm suitable for toddlers and young children?
Absolutely! Our small, welcoming farm is a lovely place for little ones to discover animals and nature, right in the middle of London.
Children can watch our animals, explore the farm and enjoy a break at our café. We also have baby-changing facilities and pushchair-accessible paths.
Please supervise children at all times and make sure everyone washes their hands after visiting the animals.
How long should I allow for a visit to Vauxhall City Farm?
We recommend allowing around an hour to explore our small farm at a relaxed pace.
You might want to stay longer if you’re visiting with young children, enjoying refreshments at our cafe or taking part in one of our animal experiences. We have lots of seasonal activities on. Check our latest events before you come.
There’s no need to rush! Take your time and enjoy a little countryside in the city.
Does Vauxhall City Farm have a café?
Yes! We have a café at the farm, serving hot and cold drinks, snacks, pastries and a selection of food. You can relax indoors or enjoy a drink outside overlooking our duck pond.
The café is open Tuesday to Sunday, from 10.30am to 4pm. Please note that food and drinks brought from outside cannot be consumed on the farm, but nearby Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens is a lovely spot for a picnic.
Is Vauxhall City Farm accessible for wheelchair users and families with pushchairs?
Yes! Our farm has step-free access, with mostly paved paths and short distances between the animal enclosures. We also have accessible toilets and baby-changing facilities.
Pushchairs are welcome, although we do ask where possible that you park them in our buggy park as the yard can get quite busy.
Some paths can become wet or uneven after heavy rain. If you have specific accessibility requirements, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.

Where is Vauxhall City Farm, and how do I get there?
You’ll find us at 165 Tyers Street, Vauxhall, London SE11 5HS, next to Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens.
We’re just a short walk from Vauxhall Underground, railway and bus stations. You can also reach us on foot from Oval Underground station in around 10 minutes, or Waterloo in around 20 minutes.
Is there parking near Vauxhall City Farm?
There is metered on-street parking near the farm, including on Tyers Street, although spaces may be limited. There are two disabled parking bays just outside the main entrance to the farm.
We’re inside London’s Congestion Charge zone, so please check any applicable charges and parking restrictions before travelling.
There is also a new Healthy Neighbourhood Scheme which prevents cars from turning left from Kennington Lane into Tyers Street – exemptions are available for blue badge holders.
Otherwise, we recommend accessing us from Black Prince Road and following the following directions:
To get to Tyers Street it is best to access via Black Prince Road – this can be access from either Albert Embankment to the north, or Kennington Road to the South.
1) Drive along Black Prince Road and turn into Vauxhall Walk where the former Queens Head Pub is.
2) Drive along Vauxhall Walk until you get to the Black Dog pub on your right, then turn left down Glasshouse Walk. Turn right at the end of Glasshouse Walk onto Tyers Street.
We recommend public transport where possible as we’re just a short walk from Vauxhall Underground, railway and bus stations.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes! Well behaved dogs are welcome.
If a dog is continuously barking, or causing visitors distress, they will be asked to leave by a staff / volunteer.
Water bowls are available outside of the café.
Licensed guide dogs are welcome on the entire farm.
Do activities change during hot weather or extreme conditions? ☀️
During periods of very hot or extreme weather, some activities may be adapted, postponed, or cancelled to protect the wellbeing of our animals.
This is most likely when temperatures reach around 28°C or higher, or if an official weather warning is in place.
If your visit or booking is affected, we will aim to contact you at least 48 hours in advance and offer an alternative where possible.

We have an on site café, The Old Dairy, serving hot and cold drinks and snacks.
We have two unisex toilets, one accessible with baby changing facilities, at the top end of The Farm.
