A special community event supporting the animals at Vauxhall City Farm.
In a special team‑up with Vauxhall City Farm, bilingual children’s author Angelina Wong‑Jardin invites families to an afternoon at this much‑loved central London farm – inspired by the new edition of her Nursery Rhymes About Animals in Mandarin sound book — now more compact and headphone‑enabled to listen and play when out-and-about. Enjoy storytime, sound‑play, and simple crafts exploring animal sounds from around the world.
Remember: you don’t need to be raising a bilingual child to join us. This afternoon is for all family who loves to see their child explore, celebrate difference, and enjoy being at the farm.
Have the chance to meet the animals up close with the Farm’s Education Guide, showing children that by caring for animals builds kindness. They’ll also hear how animals sound around the world – a reminder that cultural differences are something to celebrate. Plus watch a live wool‑spinning demonstration, turning a sheep’s fluffy fleece into yarn.
Each child chooses a farm animal to sponsor, take home an adoption certificate along with a special hand-crochet animal made with love: a keep-sake reminder that every child belongs.
With every ticket, you’ll be helping to care for Vauxhall City Farm’s beloved animals — from Clyde the New Zealand Kune Kune pig and Pickles the English Lop rabbit, to Whitney the Polish chicken and Waffles the senior goose. Your support helps cover their feed, bedding, vet care, enrichment, and the daily hands‑on attention that keeps them healthy and happy.
Come support the animals at Vauxhall City Farm this half term. We promise it will be a fun-packed afternoon of discovery with plenty of new friends.
