It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to Nigel Rust, a beloved former trustee of Vauxhall City Farm.
Nigel’s journey with the farm began many years ago when he selflessly volunteered his time on Saturdays, caring for the animals, feeding them, and diligently sweeping the yards. Little did we know that this was the beginning of a remarkable legacy. Nigel’s dedication to Vauxhall City Farm knew no bounds. He later took on the role of treasurer, became the bedrock upon which the farm’s financial stability rested. His meticulous accounting and astute business acumen were invaluable, ensuring the farm’s continued success even during challenging times.
Through the highs and lows, Nigel navigated the farm with unwavering commitment, making tough decisions when necessary. His tireless efforts, despite the demands of his own business, exemplified his character as a true gentleman in every sense of the word. But Nigel’s connection with Vauxhall City Farm went beyond mere duty. He was passionate about the farm’s mission to support disabled and disadvantaged individuals. His dedication shone brightly when he generously donated to provide subsidized riding lessons for disabled children, a testament to his heartfelt belief in the farm’s work. As we remember Nigel Rust, we invite you to join us in celebrating his life and the profound impact he had on Vauxhall City Farm and the community it serves.
