Ferrets

Lola, Melanie, Diego and friends cannot wait to meet you at The Farm.

The name ferret is taken from the Latin word furittus, meaning ‘little thief’ and this is likely because of a ferrets nature to take and hide small items.

Ferrets were domesticated around 2500 years ago, and were used to hunt animals like rabbits and small rodents. Their interesting bodies and inquisitive nature make ferrets great at finding borrows and small prey. So much so, ferrets were used in World War II to protect grain from rodents.

We have a ‘business’ of ferrets at The Farm, with a mixture of colours and personalities, make sure to say hello when you are visiting!
