We’re delighted to announce that after a two-year hiatus, the Lambeth Country Show is back, and Vauxhall City Farm will be bringing our animals along to join in the festivities. The farm has long been part of the annual show, which celebrates both city and country by bringing them together for one joyous weekend in Brockwell Park.
This year, the show runs from Saturday 16th to Sunday 17th July, and is expected to draw crowds of over 150,000 people. This is a huge event on the VCF calendar, and one of our biggest fundraising weekends of the year, allowing us meet people who may have been unaware of our animals and the work that we do, and expand our reach throughout Lambeth and beyond.
Now, packing up the farm and running it offsite for two nights is no small task, which is why we need plenty of volunteers to help make it happen! We need extra people on the following days:
- Friday 15th July – to pack everything (and everyone!) up, transport to Brockwell Park, and then unpack in our designated area.
- Saturday 16th July – To welcome visitors, care for animals, paint faces, run Cuddle Corner, staff the Gift Shop and, most importantly, collect donations, among other activities that will taking place in the VCF area over the weekend.
- Sunday 17th July – As Saturday, plus pack up and transport everything back to VCF once the event ends at 8pm.
- Monday 18th July – To unpack and prepare the farm to open as usual on Tuesday 19th July
If you are able to help on any of these days, please get in touch with our volunteering team: volunteering@vauxhallcityfarm.org
