“All kids ride for the same reason, it's not about being competitive”
   - Mother of a boy diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome

My son was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome in 2011. He really looks forward to Saturday mornings and even said how much more confident he felt on the horse and how much he’s enjoying learning. There’s no doubt that being on a pony has a calming effect on him, plus the other kids are all there for the same reason and not to be competitive.

Also for me I’ve met some very supportive mums who have been in the same position as me, are non-judgemental and have been able to say – it gets better – which after this year has been a huge relief and also point me in the direction of other support or activities for my son.
