Some highlights from April 2024!
Our Alpaca’s went viral! Receiving a whopping 16k views on TikTok in just 24-hours, Cookie, Rolo and Toffee are keeping cool and not letting the fame go to their head just yet! Check out our Insta reels or TikTok to see what all the fuss is about. If you’re a Swiftie you’ll love it!
Fame aside, The Farm was bustling with excitement this Easter, as children searched for colourful eggs in our springtime community garden. They also got crafty during our Easter bonnet making sessions and we were very impressed with their creativity. It was a week filled with joy, laughter, and lots of love, just the way we like it.
Then came Earth Day, a time for us to celebrate our beautiful planet and all the amazing creatures that call it home. The Farm organised some fantastic activities focused on sustainability and environmental awareness. If you couldn’t make it to Earth Day, you haven’t missed out as our fantastic Education Team host regular sessions, check out the Education section below.
Our gardening clubs have been a real hit! The Wednesday club have been busy jazzing up the pond area to be more wildlife friendly; look out for a frog hide and a pond spot that will transport you to the countryside. Meanwhile, the Saturday club have been all about the herb zone. They have set up a bird bath and a butterfly feeding station to attract more wildlife. Plus, our stash of herbs, edible flowers, and sensory plants have bloomed even bigger!
We love seeing humans taking care of our planet, and it warms our little bird hearts to know that you are working hard to make a positive impact.

Education Updates!
The Education Team have been busy bees, welcoming lots of visitors to our Easter Conservation Club which sparked a passion in the participants to take care of our natural world! And let’s not forget about International Earth Day on April 22nd. We celebrated with our visitors on Sunday 21st, diving into workshops and learning sessions for all ages. It was amazing to see everyone engaged in discovering how we can protect our Earth and make a positive impact.
Guess what? The afterschool club is back in action! We have been thrilled to welcome young folks from Lambeth schools, working together in a fun way while learning and applying new skills. Look out for their hard work around our site in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, our Saturday Young Farmers group have been busy learning all about animal care and wildlife. They have been grooming some of our farm animals and helping to keep an eye on their wellbeing.
Our Community Garden News!
Spring has arrived and this month we expect broad beans, peas, asparagus, rainbow chard, and maybe even some soft fruit popping up in our garden. Once ready, visitors can buy fresh fruit and veggies grown right here on The Farm.
Plus, the wildflowers we planted under the fruit trees should start to bloom soon. And guess what? We have already spotted some blossoms on a few fruit trees, so let’s keep our fingers crossed for apples, peaches, plums, pears, and figs later in the year.
Oh, and speaking of new additions, we are trying our hand at growing sugar cane for the first time this year. It is currently snug as a bug in the greenhouse. Next time you swing by, be sure to ask the gardener how it is getting on – it may be tiny now, but it’s got big potential!
A huge shoutout to all our amazing volunteers, both old and new. We couldn’t keep this garden blooming without their hard work and creativity. Thank you all, and let’s not forget our regular bees who are busy buzzing around getting ready for World Bee Day on the 20th May.
